UP FOR SALE IS AN EXTREMELY RARE AND VERY SCARCE ORIGINAL VINTAGE 1951 FORD FORDOMATIC DRIVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DEALERSHIP ADVERTISEMENT DISPLAY SIGN WHICH MEASURES 48″ WIDE X 50″ HIGH X 12 DEEP. Original Vintage 1951 FORD FORDOMATIC DRIVE Transmission Dealership Advertising Electric Lighted Mechanical Display Sign which measures a huge 50″ inches high X 48″ inches wide X 12 inches deep. This piece is made with a solid wood frame and the entire piece was hand painted. It has a total of 8 light bulbs inside behind each 8″ X 10″ Color Photograph. There is also a small electric gear motor with cable chain drive which operates the gear shifter from P to R to N to DR to LO From what I understand, it is missing a “glove” which was bolted on to the end of the gear shifter. Everything works smoothly but two of the lights are not lighting up which could easily be a pair of burnt out light bulbs or a short somewhere. A few of the 8 X 10 photograghs have started to crack along with some water damage to the cardboard inserts which hold the photographs. They all could easily be copied, replicated and replaced with new ones since they slide right out to change the light bulbs. Overall, this piece is super duper rare and deserves to be appreciated by someone who will display it properly with their Ford Dealership Collection.
