Exceptionally Rare Original 1970 “McQueen Drives Porsche” Showroom Victory Poster. Here’s your opportunity to acquire the “Holy Grail” of collectible Porsche showroom posters. At the time of its printing, Porsche did not have McQueen’s permission to use his likeness, causing Porsche to recall and destroy most of these. Very few remain, and this is a terrific example and a superb investment! Not cheap, but probably won’t be available very long. This listing is for the McQueen Drives Porsche poster pictured. The poster looks to have never been displayed, as there are no pinholes, tape residue or fading. Included with this poster is an original period UPS mailing tube from Porsche / Audi Eastern to Langan Porsche Audi, Inc. Of Schenectady, NY, postmarked “Oct 26, 1973″. Poster printed in Germany by Porsche, dated Mai, 1970. 30″ wide x 39.875″ tall. See Lewandowski, page 86. Very sharp and straight, no pinholes, tears or losses. As stated, not absolutely perfect as there are some minor flaws, but probably as perfect as you will ever find. Guaranteed authentic original, not a reproduction or reprint. Most were apparently never hung, no pinholes, tape residue or (most importantly) color fading. Since they have been rolled up so long I used some bar stock to hold them flat for photography, that’s what those black bands at the top and bottom in the photos are – they are not part of the poster, they are not there to hide anything, nor have the posters been trimmed, repaired or altered in any way (and the bar stock is not included).
