This is a guaranteed old and original double sided porcelain neon Willys Overland sign. Willys overland was done in 1953 , so this is older than 1953. It is all complete minus the neon. Please judge condition from the pictures. It could look a lot better with some cleaning. One side is faded from the weather. There are some chips around the insulator and stand off holes. Overall a great rare sign. Size is 34″x70″x10.75″ plus the mounting steel the sticks out another 12″. Antique 2-sided porcelain over steel advertising sign for Whippet and Willys – Knight Authorized Service. One side is pretty clean the other has some paint splatters and concrete? Blotches, Both of which I’m sure are removable. Displays well, measures 36″ X 24″. A great piece of American Automobilia. In 1926 Willys-Overland introduced a new line of small cars named Willys-Overland Whippet. In the economic depression of the 1930s, a number of Willys automotive brands faltered. Stearns-Knight was liquidated in 1929. Whippet production ended in 1931; its models were replaced by the Willys Six and Eight. Production of the Willys-Knight ended in 1933. The piece is about 4 3/8″ tall, 3 3/8″ wide (at base). The knob turns the piston up & down but there is missing pieces at the piston rod base, linkage that would move the cylinder sleeves and there is light hairline cracks that need to be filled in on the case.
