Pristine vintage advertising piece designed by Keith Smykal for Volkswagen. Smykal is probably best known for his bulldog design for Mack Truck. This rare hat appeared in two styles – this floppy canvas brim style, and a newsboy cap style. Both are pretty rare. This measures approx 14″ across and the head part of the hat rises 4.5″ from the brim. The head diameter is approximately 7 with flexibility to accommodate a little bigger or smaller. It’s a women’s medium size, or a men’s small size. Hat appears unworn – new old stock condition. There’s one small area of flaw in the weave (see pic) – very minor and completely original, but worth mentioning.
