VGC RAC REG MAN ANTIQUE OLD VINTAGE ENAMEL ADVERTISING SIGN AUTOMOBILE MOTORING. Out of my personal collection (see other nice signs I have for sale at the moment inc more RAC), this is the probably one of the most attractive and original of the RAC sign designs. It was used on RAC approved motor intructor cars, and would have been fixed to the bumpers – its therefore very unusual to find one in such good condition (must be close to being the best available anywhere) – if it has been used it must have been for a very short time. Personally I think its a superb design, featuring a stick man named’RAC Reg’, with the’L’ learner letter as the body and a great RAC steering wheel/badge design as the head and shoulders and a miniature enamel sign shape underneath (see my other RAC sign for sale which is the same shape). Its also quite heavy for its smallish size, coming in at just under 600 grams. 7 3/8″ (187mm) wide, by 12″ (305mm) tall. As above, I would describe as excellent for its age , with only minimal light scratches to the surface and some extremely small dings/nicks and rusting around the edges and fixing holes, and retaining the majority of its original sheen – I generally only collected the better condition ones, and I think this one will be amongst the best of this type available and hard to better.
