Rare Vintage 1928 Coca Cola Promo American Flyer Train Car Set

For the Discerning Coke, or Train, collector, an Extremely rare PROMO 1928 AMERICAN FLYER SET OF 3 TRAIN CARS” advertising “PURE AS SUNLIGHT, DRINK COCA-COLA IN BOTTLES. Considered by many to be the one of the most desirable and difficult to find train sets of its era. There is light wear to the litho as shown. Some of the couplings are missing and need addressed. There is no locomotive or tender, but I found what I believe what was the original wind up mechanism to the locomotive at the garage sale I bought these at. Plastic body is in good condition (no cracks and nothing missing). All 4 rubber tires are original. Size reference: approximately 9-1/4 long. Signal Gasoline Company was founded in 1922 by Samuel B. What started as just a gasoline business quickly evolved to include products like grease and oil in 1928. Signal Gas and Oil. In 1931 Signal and Standard Oil began a partnership. That same year Signal had it’s first foray into sponsoring radio programs after becoming the sponsor of a show called Carefree Carnival. This program featured Western music and skits and broadcasted out of San Francisco. In 1947 the company changed again, Standard Oil took over control of marketing and Signal worked on drilling and production.
