Here is a collection of 118 Travelogue Maps by Slim Barnard and wife Henrietta. 118 different trips, no duplicates. Some age toning on the margins, some have small corner folds. Out of the 118 maps, 113 are originals from the late 1960’s, 5 others are reprints and state reprint just below the map number, they were most likely from the early 1970’s. Each travelogue is on one piece of paper, the front has the cool map and some trip info, the back continues with the info and destinations, and has an advertisement from the Ford Dealerships of course. Television shows were aired on KNBC 4, KCOP 13, KTLA 5. “Don’t miss seeing the new 1965 Fords”, “Best Buys Of The Year On 1965 Cars And Trucks”, the dates then change to 1966, and then to 1967. These original maps are very hard to find today because most were written on, torn, trashed, etc. The Happy Wanderers was a weekly television travel log (travelogue) sponsored by the Southern California Ford Dealerships. The show focused on the backroad-ramblings of a jovial character named Slim Barnard and his wife Henrietta, they motored throughout the southwestern United States in search of adventure and beautiful scenery. And each week they produced a wonderfully artistic map of their travels which was available only at your local Ford dealership.
