Vintage Chevrolet Advertisement “Carryall Suburban” Circa mid 1930s Poster / Brochure. This could be one of the very first Suburban advertisements. The story of the Chevrolet Suburban began right as America was emerging from the Great Depression. Some believe Chevrolet wanted to create a vehicle that would draw buyers that wanted to enjoy life’s simple pleasures, like family, trusted friends and maybe even a fishing or hunting trip. Chevrolet started the idea of the Suburban sometime before 1934 and production of the Suburban around 1934 – 1935. This poster / brochure is from that time period. The brochures measurements are included in the pictures. Make sure you check out some of the absolutely amazing pictures in the brochure. As stated earlier, this would make a great display piece as framed wall art. We have been unable to find a comparable poster or brochure even though I’ve found one of the pictures that is in the brochure on the intranet. This item is special, hard to find and VERY RARE!!! The poster would be an awesome piece to frame and display and would be extremely unique. Even though many people collect metal signs, paper is much more rare as paper generally was thrown away. Back Story – Last fall, we acquired a 1929 Chevrolet Special Sedan. The car had been owned by the family since new and hadn’t been driven since the 1950s. A complete and original car is hard to find and is special. Today, the car can move under its’ own power and is a great piece of history. This brochure was one of over a hundred items the original owner collected and kept with his car. When we brought the car home, we found hundreds of original dealer posters, brochures, art, catalogs, manuals, auto-parts, magazines, pamphlets and much, much more. We are excited to be able to preserve the historical auto-memorabilia. In researching many of the poster items, we were unable to find similar examples. We worked with Mecum’s Road Art Department, Sotheby’s and even sent correspondence to the GM Heritage Center. None of those organizations were able to find comparable pieces to some of the posters we will list in the near future. Feel free to do your own research and if you find a similar example, we’d love to hear about it. Obviously, for some of the items, you will find other similar examples. Just wait til we get to the poster’s celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Chevrolet “OK” tag. Complete with bowties, birthday cakes and of course the Red “Ok” Tag. Please check back, even if you’re not considering purchasing as these are what we believe to be one – of – a – kind. Please see the pictures for the best description of the Brochure. If you have any questions or need additional information, please let us know. Thanks for looking and enjoy! The measurements are included in the pictures.
