Original circa 1940’s FORD ANTIFREEZE 54 Gallon Dealership Steel Advertising Drum. Very Rare Ford advertising; only a few of these are known in private collections. Note the obsolete Methanol content warnings, 25 Cent Quart Top, & side Rolling Hoops (Ridges). This came from a local estate of a man who worked in the parts department of “Alex Creighton” Ford Dealership. This can was brought home from the dealership at some point and stored in the back of a pole barn until recently when it was found. Heavy industrial Barrel weighing just shy of 43 lbs unpacked. Has all painted graphics at three sides (top and 2 sides). Stands 35″ tall with a width of 23″. Thoroughly cleaned and free of oil or residue. Otherwise as found with no touch up, refurb, or alterations. Shows a number of light surface rust spots, mostly toward top of sides at Blue. No deep pitting or crumbling. Solid from top to bottom. Drum does have some dents and dings but none at side or top painted graphics. Top graphics are pretty amazing with no significant wear aside from some scratches. The two side graphics have some scuffs, minor, fade, and wear. All are clear and legible including the two Methanol poison/ Antidote warnings. Barrel paint has a nice shine. All things considered, this drum is Exceptional for age. Please refer to pictures for additional information on trademarks and condition.
