Vintage Heavy Metal Sign That is Porcelain Coated. It is in pretty good shape except for the rust as shown in the picture. The sign weighs about 5 pounds. It is ready to hang. Used-All original with no touch ups, has image loss. This is a vintage original porcelain sign. It is about 14″ X 14″. Antique 2-sided porcelain over steel advertising sign for Whippet and Willys – Knight Authorized Service. One side is pretty clean the other has some paint splatters and concrete? Blotches, Both of which I’m sure are removable. Displays well, measures 36″ X 24″. A great piece of American Automobilia. In 1926 Willys-Overland introduced a new line of small cars named Willys-Overland Whippet. In the economic depression of the 1930s, a number of Willys automotive brands faltered. Stearns-Knight was liquidated in 1929. Whippet production ended in 1931; its models were replaced by the Willys Six and Eight. Production of the Willys-Knight ended in 1933. Original Vintage – c1920’s B. Motor Spirit Double Sided Enamel Sign. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ON THE UK SITE AND LISTED IN GB POUNDS. This wonderful, iconic, B. ” double sided Union Jack sign dates from the 1920’s and is in “as found condition and has not been repaired or restored. BRITISH PETROLEUM’BP’ a name that has been synonymous with the petrol industry for as long as people can remember. Surprisingly BRITISH PETROLEUM was only officially adopted as the trading name of the company in 1954 although the name was first used some 45 years earlier. This double sided sign would have been attached to a garage forecourt wall where it could be seen by passing motorists. The sign has the usual enamel losses and nibbles to the edges, as well as some patches of enamel loss and crazing to the body of the sign, mainly to one side. It also has the usual scuffs, marks and scratches that you would expect from an item of this age and use. I have tried to show the condition in the photographs. Unfortunately, the flange is missing. The red, white and enamel Union Jack and lettering still has a good depth of colour and gloss. This is a good example of a classic piece of British automobilia which would grace any collection. It measures 61 cm (24 inches) long and 40 cm (15 3/4inches) high. We take great care to describe our items as clearly and honestly as possible, including any faults or flaws that we may see. This fabulous “Pratt’s Perfection Spirit” double sided sign dates from the 1920’s and is in “as found” condition and has not been repaired or restored. The ANGLO – AMERICAN OIL CO LTD was formed in 1888 and by the early 1900’s was importing motor spirit in to the U. Under the brand name of “Pratt’s”. In 1935 the “Pratt’s” products were re-branded “ESSO”. This sign would have been attached to a garage forecourt wall where it could be seen by passing motorists. The sign has the usual areas of enamel loss and “nibbles” to the edges, as well as patches of loss to the body on both sides, it also has the usual scuffs and scratches that you would expect from an item of this age and use. I have tried to show the condition in the photographs. The stylish black and white shadow lettering is still legible and the sign has a good depth of colour and gloss. This sign also has the parents company name along the bottom. The flange is strong and sturdy and has four mounting holes. All in all, this is a good example of a classic piece of British automobilia in good original condition. It measures 53.5 cm (21 inches) long and 46 cm (18 inches) high. Vintage c1920 “Filtrate Oil Motor Lubrication” Double – Sided Enamel Sign. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ON THE UK SITE AND LISTED IN GB POUNDS. Double Sided Enamel Sign. This fabulous “Filtrate Oil” double sided enamel sign is in “as found” condition and has not been repaired or restored. Founded in 1807, Edward Joy & Son Ltd of Filtrate Works, Leeds, first produced branded oil products in 1903 with the trade name’Filtrate’. They were Britains oldest oil producer. The sign has the usual enamel loss and nibbles to the edges and there are some patches of enamel loss to the body on both sides, as well as the usual scuffs, marks and scratches that you would expect from an item of this age and use. The sign has its’ original hanging flange, with five holes, this is well attached and sturdy. The stylish red and blue lettering and cream background has a lovely depth to the colour and gloss. This scarce sign would make great addition to any automobilia collection. It measures 51 cm (20 inches) wide and 36 cm (14 inches) high.
