Rare Early VOLKSWAGEN WALL THERMOMETER Vintage Advertising 1960s MADE USA

This is one of many great vintage & antique items I’m currently listing from various estates. Please take a look at my other merchandise at your leisure. Vintage VOLKSWAGEN Large Advertising Wall Thermometer c1960s. This belonged to a soldier who served at the tail end of the Korean War in 1954. Before he came back to the States he visited Seoul and Tokyo and took many slides. I’ve scanned these slides and although I haven’t listed them yet – it’s evident that he was already fascinated and in love with the Volkswagen back in 1954 as a small number of the slides capture the Beetles zipping down congested city streets. This is a relatively large wall thermometer. It measures 13″ long x 2.75″ wide and is American made. The paint surface shows some oxidation with some paint loss at the top left as seen. Blue & white enameled Volkwagen convex badge. Glass thermometer clear and intact. I wasn’t able to find another matching example anywhere on the internet. A fun vintage wall clock, dealer advertising piece from the 1960s for the Beetle. The letters are blue on a cream backing, constructed like an oversize button with plastic covering. The clock runs on an AA battery and keeps good time. This is an uncommon piece, a true collector’s item for the Bug lover. Plastic covering is brittle, slightly yellowed, peeling at edges. This is a really cool original Fiat glass sign box. This sign was inside an authorized Fiat repair shop/parts dealer. We believe the sign is from the 1960’s could possibly be older. This is an amazing find and we could not find another one anywhere and have been periodically checking for the past few years. The sign measures 14×20 1/2 approx 4. It lights up and has a newer ballast. Weighs approx 20 lbs. Needs a plug and is missing a screw in the back. Lights up nice and bright with a tremendous amount of patina. The sign has been very well preserved and has no cracks in the glass. The aluminum trim frame is in very good condition. The actual Fiat logo you see when you open up the sign is very delicate and could literally disintegrate of you tried to wipe it. It is pretty clean inside. This would make a great addition to any garage especially someone who is a collector or fiat enthusiast. Really, really, cool and rare conversation piece, might be the only one available of it’s kind. Don’t miss out! Item will be packed very well, however we will not be responsible for any broken items. This old metal gas station display measures 16 x 10.5 inches and stands 27 inches tall. It dates from the late 1950s–mid 1960s era and has great graphics. The door opens and closes with ease….. Nothing is missing and nothing is broken. This display was made so that it can be locked up with a small padlock (see photo). The knob is is original and in nice shape also….. This is a great old gas station item. Not 100% mint (nothing is to me) but nice as you can see with bold colors….. You would be hard pressed to ever find a better one….. Looks very cool when displayed. It’s an old one and it’s GUARANTEED authentic. This is a very nice small (19″ length x 10″ height x 3.5 width) vintage original late 1950’s early 1960’s Studebaker batteries lighted / illuminated sign. It is made by Neon Products Incorporated Lima Ohio. It has a new fluorescent bulb and starter. There are no cracks in the thick plastic or dents in the housing. There are some light scratches on the face & some paint loss on the end caps of the housing. The cord was replaced at one time.
