This is one of many great vintage & antique items I’m currently listing from various estates. Please take a look at my other merchandise at your leisure. Vintage VOLKSWAGEN Large Advertising Wall Thermometer c1960s. This belonged to a soldier who served at the tail end of the Korean War in 1954. Before he came back to the States he visited Seoul and Tokyo and took many slides. I’ve scanned these slides and although I haven’t listed them yet – it’s evident that he was already fascinated and in love with the Volkswagen back in 1954 as a small number of the slides capture the Beetles zipping down congested city streets. This is a relatively large wall thermometer. It measures 13″ long x 2.75″ wide and is American made. The paint surface shows some oxidation with some paint loss at the top left as seen. Blue & white enameled Volkwagen convex badge. Glass thermometer clear and intact. I wasn’t able to find another matching example anywhere on the internet. Rare Large Vintage “Ask for Dominion” Petrol/ Automobilia Advertising sign. Original vintage petrol advertising sign. Measures 48 Inches by 30 Inches. British Made – Bruton London Credit. Fantastic colour and the enamel is in great condition overall. There are 6 small rivets which have some wear surrounding them and one or two other small patches of corrosion – which have all been photographed clearly. Otherwise the sign is in wonderful condition including the main body of text – a great example.
